Our School runs an industry seminar series to which all interested parties are invited to attend.  The speakers are usually from industry and the talks will focus on Computer Software and IT industries - what they do and what their expectations are from Computer Software and IT graduates. 

The usual seminar time is 1:00pm on Tuesday afternoons in Seminar Room 1.24.

Mapizy under the UWA Innovation Quarter's MO4U program Presentation

UWA recently entered into an agreement with a tech start-up called Mapizy under the UWA Innovation Quarter's MO4U program.

The agreement has led to the company co-locating in the UWA School of Computer Science and Software Engineering building and creating exciting opportunities for collaborative research, student internships, mentoring student projects and teaching support.

Mapizy is a computer vision company providing customised solutions for large-scale image processing, geospatial data management and information collection from remotely sensed imagery. The Mapizy team help industry and government organisations to find answers for the questions they didn't know they could answer through imagery data, one question at a time.

In this talk, the Mapizy team will be discussing the following topics in 30 minutes followed by questions and answers:

  1.   Mapizy innovative software products for agriculture, natural resource, forestry and urban mapping and change detection
  2.  Overview of major technologies used
  3. Collaboration opportunities for staff and students
