Our School has developed courses that produce graduates with expertise in programming coupled with in-depth knowledge of computation methods and data processing.
We take pride in our pursuit of excellence in both teaching and research while providing service to the community and the profession.
The Computer Science major provides a direct pathway to the Master of Professional Engineering.
Research degrees involve two to four years full-time research under the guidance of a supervisor in the School. They provide a unique opportunity to focus on an area of research for several years and make an important contribution to the development of your chosen research area.
Most of the research projects are strongly linked with industrial needs and funded in large part by industry as well as various departments of the State and Federal governments.
The focus is on your capacity for creative, independent research, critical thinking, time and project management, problem solving and organisation and communication skills.
There are usually no examinable coursework components to a Master's by research or a PhD.
