Our School has developed courses that produce graduates with expertise in programming coupled with in-depth knowledge of computation methods and data processing.

Undergraduate courses

At the undergraduate level, we offer a Bachelor of Computer Science, a Bachelor of Computer and Mathematical Sciences or the Bachelor of Science with a major in Computer Science, Information Technology Systems or Information Technology Applications.

These degrees are of three years duration, with the possibility of an add-on honours year.

We also offer the Bachelor of Engineering (Software Engineering), which is a four-year degree.

Postgraduate courses

At the postgraduate level, we offer coursework and research opportunities, including a Master of Computer Science, Master of Information Technology, Master's by research and a PhD or Professional Doctorate.

Research degrees involve two to four years full-time research under the guidance of a supervisor in the School. They provide a unique opportunity to focus on an area of research for several years and make an important contribution to the development of your chosen research area.

Most of the research projects are strongly linked with industrial needs and funded in large part by industry as well as various departments of the State and Federal governments.

The focus is on your capacity for creative, independent research, critical thinking, time and project management, problem solving and organisation and communication skills.

There are usually no examinable coursework components to a Master's by research or a PhD.
