Information Technology involves planning, designing, constructing and managing computer systems development, automation, software development, computer applications, communications and global information networks.

Students must complete a 24 point program which consists of four units selected from:

- CITS1211 Foundations of Computer Science
- CITS1220 Software Engineering
- CITS1230 Foundations of Information Technology
- CITS1231 Web Technologies
- CITS2200 Data Structures and Algorithms
- CITS2211 Discrete Structures
- CITS2220 Software Engineering: Design
- CITS2230 Operating Systems
- CITS2231 Graphics
- CITS2232 Databases
- a Level 1 unit offered by the School of Mathematics and Statistics
Students who have not passed TEE Applicable Mathematics, TEE Calculus or equivalent must include in the course Calculus C.
Admission requirements
A bachelor's degree in a discipline other than information technology of this University or equivalent.
