Undergraduate

Our School offers a variety of undergraduate bachelor degrees and majors.

The Bachelor of Computer Science and Computing and Mathematical Science are three-year degrees, with the possibility of an add-on honours year.

The Bachelor of Engineering (Software Engineering) is a four-year degree.

Majors and options

Bachelor of Science

It is possible to take a major in Computer Science, Information Technology Systems or Information Technology Applications in either the Bachelor of Science or the Bachelor of Science (Bioinformatics) courses.

Bachelor of Computing and Mathematical Science

In the Bachelor of Computing and Mathematical Science, students must complete two majors in their third year. The first major must be from the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering or the School of Mathematics and Statistics. A second major can be taken from a range of areas including:

  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology Applications
  • Information Technology Systems
  • Mathematical Sciences
  • Accounting
  • Economics
  • Information Management
  • Finance
  • Management
  • Chinese
  • Indonesian
  • Japanese
  • German
  • French
  • Italian
  • Biochemistry
  • Geographic Information Systems
  • Linguistics.

Software Engineering

Software Engineering students should be aware that the first-year engineering program consists of foundation units, which are taken by all engineering students. 

There are six core units and two optional units, which are taken in second semester.

Combined degrees

It is possible to combine a Computer Science or Software Engineering degree with a second degree - browse the combined degree options.
