MyUWA Launch News Item

MyUWA LogoAs a part of the University’s commitment to improve its services to staff and students the university is today launching MyUWA. MyUWA is a university-wide initiative with the primary aim of “Improving the Student Experience”.

MyUWA is a web portal, or online gateway, that provides users with personalised access to important applications and information services, essential to study and research at UWA.

MyUWA is intended to become the “one stop shop” for access to the university’s online services; for example MyUWA will allow students to create a personalised gateway to:

  • read and send email from the student email system;
  • link to a unit’s WebCT course, CMO list or Lectopia recordings;
  • check your personal timetable for lecture and tutorial times;
  • review your Internet usage quota;
  • upload and download files from your student storage area;
  • read news and official university announcements;
  • review the items you have on loan from the Library, and see if any are due for return;
  • search for books or journal articles using many of the Library’s search tools, including the catalogue and SuperSearch;
  • add personal bookmarks and RSS news feeds;
  • plus much more...

MyUWA is intended to become the central point for official communications, email, search, discussion groups, syndicated content (e.g. weather, news, announcements) and links to tailored information for students. MyUWA will provide a student-friendly online experience, delivering relevant information and services to meet the needs of the current generation of students.

The University is committed to improving the breadth of services that it provides to staff and students through MyUWA. While MyUWA has been initially targeted at the student population it is expected that staff research and administration functions will be catered for in the near future.

MyUWA is available right now at: http://www.uwa.edu.au/myuwa

Users of MyUWA are encouraged to submit their suggestions and comments by email to portal-help@uwa.edu.au or via the Support portlet within the MyUWA portal itself.
