The History of Hypervolume

Dr Lyndon While, UWA
11am 19th September

Abstract

Hypervolume is an important metric used to assess the performance of multi-objective optimisation algorithms, and also in the operation of multi-objective evolutionary algorithms. The Walking Fish Group has been studying the use and implementation of hypervolume calculations since 2003, and we have made several important contributions to this technology.

In this seminar Dr. Lyndon White will outline the ten-year history of algorithms for calculating hypervolume, with particular emphasis on the work and contributions of the Walking Fish.
