Abstract
To kick off an audit of Department of Computer Science's intellectual
property, John Roberts (the University's Business Development
Officer), Julia Frodsham and Jocelyn Paterson (from the University's
Legal Services Office), and two patent attorneys will be visiting the
Department to discuss, and answer questions relating to, Intellectual
Property and the Department of Computer Science & Software Engineering.
Topics to be covered include:
- What is IP?
- Copyright, patents and computer software.
- Why protect and manage IP?
- Protection vs Publication and Sharing Code.
- What is an IP Audit, why do we need one and how will it be carried out.
