Research Seminar - July 27, 2004
Viticulture Data Visualisation
Time: 11am Friday 23 July
Computer Science & Software Engineering
Seminar Room 1.24
Speaker:
Mr James Parnis (PhD Student)
Abstract:
The advance of portable miniature computers, such as the Mica Mote developed
by UC Berkeley, with attached sensors provides a mechanism to record data
at scales and resolutions not seen before. This mechanism is currently in
use by agricultural industry projects, including viticulture ones. Project
Chardonnay is one of these projects and is focusing on several vineyards in
the Margaret River area. The aim of this PhD project is to develop visualisation
techniques for the data from Project Chardonnay. The purpose of these techniques
is to aid the Viticulturists in their research and as such should be as intuitive
to them as possible.
