Bio-inspired algorithms in sensor networks

Abstract:

The talk will outline several bio-inspired algorithms that were recently trialled in a Sensor network at Scroby Sands off the Norfolk coast, and use these to illustrate the use of biological analogies for computing applications. Particular attention will be paid to motivating the use of biological analogy and the need to embed the approach in a rigorous scientific methodology.
