Research in the School
|
The School of Computer Science & Software
Engineering was established in 1976 and its research
activities are now centred around 20 academic staff
and about 50 research students, including the
Honours, MSc and PhD students.
The research base of the School has enjoyed a
rapid expansion over this period and this is
reflected in the scope of research equipment now
available, ranging from individual workstations
through to networked laboratories and cluster
laboratories. A variety of platforms are supported.
In addition, other equipment such as mobile and
fixed-base robots, video cameras, various other
sensing devices, and an extensive collection of
computer music hardware is also in regular use by
researchers in the School.
