Information for Visitors

Visitors to the School are most welcome whether you are a visiting academic on sabbatical, a graduate student wishing to visit and work with a research group for a while, or you are just wanting to pass through and give a seminar.

Perth is a great place to visit. Here is some information that will facilitate your planning and hopefully encourage you to visit.

While you are here you might as well have a great holiday, there is plenty to see and do around Perth.

Accommodation

Accommodation around universities is always limited. For short stays you can try the on-campus colleges If you wish to stay in a college contact the School and we can make a booking on your behalf.

For longer stays you will be looking to rent somewhere.

  • The University Housing Service offers a free and confidential service to enrolled students and staff of the University. The Housing Service does not arrange either College or off campus accommodation but can, however, assist you to choose and find the right type of off-campus accommodation. This page also has links to information about Public Transport & Parking.
  • The Subiaco Post is a very good local paper. Their real estate advertisements may have listings of houses or units to rent. Probably of more use is their classifieds search facility, select 'To Let' for the search field. You should get some useful results here.
  • Another place to look for a variety of accommodation is PerthWeb

Childcare and Schools

If you are visiting with children there are childcare facilities on campus and some good local schools.
