Title: ASIC design, hardware or software?

Abstract

The design of Application Specific Integrated Circuits is performed using high level concurrent languages and the correct operation of the chip is verified through extensive simulation. This talk describes the design tools and process that has been used to design an ASIC, and emphasizing the software nature of the task.
