Abstract:

In this talk I will give an overview of some the recent projects that are being undertaken through the Queensland Parallel Supercomputing Foundation (QPSF) at the University of Queensland within the Advanced Computational Modelling Centre. The main focus will be on the use of Virtual Reality within the new Virtual Reality Centre which is sited at the University of Queensland. A number of projects will be described - these include the Virtual Theatre Project, The Virtual Reef Project and the Virtual Psychosis Project.

The talk will conclude with some discussion on opportunities for collaboration in the area of visualisation and virtual reality applications between Queensland and Western Australia using such technologies as VizServer, along with other possible frameworks for research interaction.
