Abstract:

Apple's MacOS has taken a dramatic change from its predecessors (MacOS Classic), introducing numerous parts of the Unix-world into the MacOS environment. This talk covers methods to help harden MacOSX, from both a local and network security perspective, and introduces processes to audit a machine's security.

 

Bio:

Paul Day is a Network Administrator for UWA's School of Computer Science and Software Engineering. His interests lie in Unix system and network security, design and optimisation.
